We think the Philadelphia Museum of Art captures parenting and working from home correctly with this meme.
We understand that one of the biggest challenges right now is keeping children occupied. If your local library uses OverDrive as a service for digital content, then you have access to books that provide narration.
These books can viewed on your laptop, tablet, or phone. Simply, log-in to your library’s website and search the catalog using the advanced search or filtered option.
Select for “OverDrive Read-along” under “Formats” or an equivalent heading on your library’s search tool.
Start writing or type / to choose a blockYou also have the option of selecting the “Audience”. My local library has several options for grades k-8 and a some classics (mostly Nathaniel Hawthorne novels) for adults. Once you have selected the book to check out, you should then have the option to open the book in your browser. I did this by selecting “Go to Loans” under the book I checked-out.
At the bottom of the page, you will see “Play Narration” and “Pause Narration”. Once you select “Play Narration”, the book will start and the text highlights as the narrator reads. The pages will also advance automatically.
We hope this can help the next time your boss needs you to be available for a Zoom call!
